2013 was another outstanding year for Vogues Basketball in the Potomac Valley AAU Regional Qualifier:

The Vogues 8th Grade National team had a productive 8 days in Orlando. The team began by playing in the AAU 8th Grade Super Showcase where Coach Jeff Benjamin led them to a 3rd place finish. Next the team played in the AAU 8th Grade Division 1 National Championship where they finished in 6th place. Congratulations to the Vogues 8th graders for a great week and a half in Orlando!!!

The Vogues 8th Grade National team won the 13U Championship at the US Junior National Championship held at Hershey, PA. The Vogues 8th graders went 8-0 over four days in impressive fashion — they won each game by 11 points or more. Congratulations to Coach Benjamin and the Vogues 8th Grade National team!


Vogues General Manager Jody Patrick recently returned from four days in Colorado Springs, CO where she participated in the selection of the 2013 USA Women’s U16 National Team (http://www.usabasketball.com/womens/u16/13_wu16_team.html). The Vogues Development Team and the Vogues 7th Grade National Team gathered at a recent practice to send a message to USA’s best U16’s as they head off to Mexico for international play. Let’s Go USA!!

Fifteen Vogues teams competed in the recently completed Potomac Valley AAU District Qualifying Tournament. In the Division 1 brackets our 8th, 9th, 11th and 12th grade teams won Gold medals. Our 3rd and 10th grade D1 teams won Silver medals. In the Division 2 brackets our 4th and 8th grade teams won Silver medals. Congratulations to all our players and coaches!
